At some points it felt sort of odd seeing Daniel Radcliffe playing a father role, mostly because he's still so young in real life, but I like how they realized that people have probably read the book or seen the play already and changed the plot a bit so as not to be too highly predictable or copy-and-paste. The plot is still largely the same, but all the moments spent in the darkness of the house were the creepiest and most suspenseful by far.
